Alison David Writes...

I’ve been a fan of Janet’s since seeing her and David perform in Sydney many years ago, and I was again absolutely delighted with the wonderful performance in Armidale in July. Janet’s lovely personality, mixed with a touch of glamour, awesome vocals and brilliant musicality made for a mesmerising evening. We could have stayed all night!

Bastille Day At Brisbane Jazz Club

The club was packed to capacity on the 14th July for a program of French Jazz classics.

Madeleine Writes From Armidale...

Armidale was recently lucky enough to host this fantastic trio. If you want to hear jazz at its finest, this is it! From the moment she walked on stage, it was clear we were in for something really special. This lady is the embodiment of style, and yes, glamour. Her sublime vocals were sensitively supported by David Seidel on double bass, and Chuck Morgan on guitar and ukulele.

There were many great solos, and it would have been wonderful to hear even more from David and Janet. It is rare to hear a singer with such exquisitely tuned pitch – more rare still to hear such a singer accompanying herself so brilliantly at the same time. Janet is also a consummate storyteller through song, taking us on a journey that was sheer joy from start to finish. If I had to sum up the evening in one word it would be – sensational!

Michael Pascoe Writes...

Janet, what a delightful new venue for your music at Waterbrook – it had the air of a private concert, a hint of “by invitation only”. Do we at last have a home for up-market cabaret on the North Shore? More, please. You were, of course, sparkling and the audience rapt.

Armidale Necom Concert: Massiel Barros-torning Writes...

The Janet Seidel trio concert was sensational! Each member so talented and passionate, it was an absolute feeling of “how lucky am I to be here”. As a trio, they entertained beyond anyone I have ever seen live. The experience was memorable, I was moved, entertained and overwhelmed with emotion, because their performance was so intimate, honest, and world class.

We had visitors from overseas and out of state, they had never experienced music sung so beautifully and performed with such an enthusiastic vibe. The audience clapped so hard, we clapped so hard, because they were just amazing!

A world class act indeed.

Ingrid Petts Writes From Moruya

Sat 3rd July at The River Restaurant in Moruya, South Coast NSW. Those residents who were unable to obtain a reservation at The River Restaurant on Saturday night, missed a rare treat. JanetSeidel and her Trio (Quartet!) performed to a packed house receiving much ovation throughout the evening, including demands for encores at the end of the night. Janet is a well known Jazz and Cabaret artist whose intimate performance draws her audiences full and silent appreciation, until the end that is!

She was ably supported by her very talented brother David on the double bass, the wonderful Chuck Morgan on guitar and ukulele and as a special treat Ben Jones on saxophone. On top of all this The River produced a delicious 3 course dinner included in the price. I particularly look forward to tracking her down in other venues and would recommend people keep an eye on her web site for gigs nearby.

Janet Seidel's Fountain Of Youth

Afternoons with Mary-Lou Stephens

(ABC Sunshine Coast) - 12th July 2010

Janet Seidel is hip. A track from her French album "Comme Ci Comme Ca" was used in the TV series Glee. As she says it makes her demographic a little more youthful.

Janet is known as Australia's first lady of jazz and she's also hugely popular in Japan where her albums go to number one.

She's touring at the moment with Chuck Morgan on guitar and David Seidel on double bass. They dropped in to the ABC studio and played the only way they know how - beautifully.
